HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

You know, if they’re going to keep these two fighting for this long, you’d think that maybe the title would exchange hands at least ONCE.

Concussion wipes out Del Rio for No Way Out

Alberto Del Rio, the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, suffered a concussion on last week’s SmackDown and will not be medically cleared to compete against Sheamus at No Way Out this Sunday, WWE’s Breaking News mobile alert service reported Monday
According to doctors, the concussion occurred during Del Rio’s match against The Great Khali, a bout that The Mexican Aristocrat won.
“The Great Khali did his chop to (Del Rio’s) head, which resulted in a concussion for Alberto,” said Dr. Michael Sampson. “He didn’t get knocked out, but he did have a memory lapse and also disorientation and a neck compression, which the MRI came back as nothing but a sprain.”
Del Rio’s injury leaves open Sheamus’ dance card at No Way Out. It is at this point unclear whether Raw and SmackDown General Manager John Laurinaitis has a replacement in mind to face The Celtic Warrior. However, with WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon set to evaluate Laurinaitis’ job performance on tonight’s special three-hour edition of Raw SuperShow, which begins at 8/7 CT, a new No. 1 contender is expected to be announced.

I don’t want to be “that girl” who blames it on people but… dammit, Khali.

“serious concussion” & “WWE Star Out Indefinitely” T_T………………….

Breaking News: WWE Star Out Indefinitely

Posted by Cory Radford Friday, June 8, 2012

As I stated when I started “Cory Unfiltered” this is mainly a football blog. But also I stated I would have professional wrestling thoughts and breaking news from time to time. Like when I broke that the 2012 Royal Rumble would take place in St.Louis months before the WWE made the announcement.

Now I have more breaking news that none of the dirt sheets, none of the insider wrestling websites know or have reported.

According to a source very close to the situation, I can confirm that WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio suffered what is being told to me as a “serious concussion” at the company’s Smackdown Tapings on Tuesday June 5th. Kane had to replace Del Rio in the “dark match” main event against Sheamus in a Steel Cage. Kane has replaced Del Rio on the Smackdown house shows for the next week against Sheamus. As of right now there are many high ranking figures in the WWE that do not believe Del Rio will receive medical clearance for June 17th, the date of the WWE Pay-Per-View “No Way Out” in which Del Rio is scheduled to wrestle Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship. There is contingency plans being discussed as to who would replace Del Rio at No Way Out, including pulling Kane from the WWE Championship triple threat match against WWE Champion C.M. Punk and Daniel Bryan and placing Kane in a World Heavyweight Championship match with Sheamus. Other plans are to hold a Battle Royal or a “Beat the Clock” series at the June 11th Smackdown tapings to determine Sheamus’ opponent at No Way Out. Word is that VinceMcMahon and Triple H are becoming worried that Alberto Del Rio can not be relied due to injury concerns and is being compared to “Mr.Kennedy” (TNA’s Mr.Anderson) backstage.

Wow. What the hell am I reading? Del Rio has only been seriously injured twice in his whole career: first, the groin injury and second, this concussion. And he’s not the only injured guy on the roster. Yeah, let’s call him unreliable for suffering an accidental injury on a work schedule so stressful that you’re bound to get injured at one point in your career… At least he didn’t get suspended for 60 days for doing stupid shit on purpose.

Now I’m not sure how concussions work exactly… But I think(?) Berto can still work the match. He booped his head during the brawl with Sheamus and after that, he seemed fine during his match with Khali. Maybe just keep the match simple and let Sheamus win (preferably not via Brogue Kick) and let Berto rest it out for the rest of the month… that is assuming if the concussion is not actually as serious as the article claims. Sigh. They spent weeks building up this feud (and the build-up has been fantastic, I might add). It would be a shameful thing, lobster head, to throw it all away but what can ya do? :(

I’m sad now. And now I wait for the WWE’s final verdict on this match.
